In August 2024, fighting began in the Kursk region of Russia. Due to the invasion of the armed forces of Ukraine, many civilians in the region were forced to leave their homes and flee to safe areas. Some people fled the war on their own, while others who could not, were evacuated by the services of the region. People were placed in temporary accommodation centers and provided with humanitarian aid. At the moment, some people are still in temporary detention centers, unable to return home.
